For the first time in the history of Klaipėda Port and our terminal, we welcomed the bulk cargo ship Starnes, which is distinguished by its exceptionally high unloading capacity. It was an important test for us to receive a ship of this capacity and ensure smooth operations at the quay.
During the visit, 39,000 tons of crushed stone were delivered to the terminal. The ship unloaded the entire cargo directly onto the terminal quay in just 10 hours, which is an impressive result.
“Receiving such a large cargo in such a short time shows that our terminal is ready to handle extremely high volumes while ensuring safety, speed, and smooth processes,” says Julius Kiršis, CEO of our terminal.
